Andy Brannon Receives

Outstanding Young Coloradoan Award

The Denver Jaycees (JCI), a chapter of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, gives young people between the ages of 18 and 40 the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service and international connections. Our Mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

The Jaycees were proud to honor three outstanding young people from the State of Colorado as the 2009 JCI Colorado Outstanding Young Coloradoans. This award is the highest honor that any member of the community may receive from JCI Colorado. Honorees are nominated by members and come from all walks of life. Past winners have included former Denver Bronco and now KCNC sports reporter Reggie Rivers, Jon Caldera of the Independence Institute, past State Senator Ron Tupa, past Colorado Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff and current US Congressman (CD 2) Jared Polis.

This year's honorees were:

Andy Brannon's remarks about the event and award:

"I would like to thank long time volunteer Stephanie Smith for nominating me for this award.

JCI Colorado put on a wonderful evening that I will never forget. It is an honour to be recognized in the community for the work I have done the last 6 years. I was accompanied by my wife Wendy and great friends Rob and Jodi Harvey.

Everyone enjoyed a relaxed reception where we had a chance to get to know many JCI Colorado members as well as the other award recipients.  Dinner was great and I was really spoiled by Jennifer Reich who introduced me while a slideshow of many TFKD adventures played.

I had the chance to thank everyone for the hard work it took to pull off such a great evening and to speak about Trips for Kids Denver. This is the first community service award I have received and I am truly humbled by the experience."
