1. “New” National Get Outdoors Day Event

 

In celebration of National Get Outdoors Day, Andy Brannon, TFKD Program Manager, is helping Avid4Adventure at their youth oriented freeride skills park.  We could use a number of volunteers to help get the word out about Trips for Kids by signing up prospective volunteers at our display table.  The event needs volunteers in general to help with numerous duties. Free Event at Sloan’s Lake Park to introduce outdoor recreation opportunities to Denver youth

 

June 14^th is National Get Outdoors Day, and dozens of City, County, State, and Federal organizations will be highlighting outdoor recreation opportunities in parks, forests, refuges, and other public lands, during a day long festival that will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Denver ’s Sloan’s Lake Park at North Stuart and West 23^rd Street .

 

Activities will include:

• Climbing Wall
• Mountain Biking
• Canoeing
• Geo-caching

 

At the Junior Ranger Camp, youth can;

• Become a Junior Ranger
• Take a compass treasure hunt
• Explore land, water, and wildlife
• Learn Outdoor Safety Skills
