Building healthy, confident kids two wheels at a time!
TFK Denver Metro partners with dozens of youth agencies in the Denver metro area to provide fun-filled, daylong and after school mountain bike and urban outings for small groups of children aged 10 and up. Trips are led by our experienced Ride Leaders who, with the help of skilled adult volunteers, teach the children basic mountain biking skills and provide positive encouragement throughout the challenging day on the trail. We provide the bikes, water bottles, snacks and technical expertise to safely facilitate a fun-filled day on a bike.
The splendid foothill and mountain parks we explore provide the perfect classroom to teach an appreciation and awareness of the natural environment. The mountain bike activities are ideal teachable moments of the benefits of healthy living while curriculum is woven into each ride day that challenges youth to re-assess their own personal limitations, trust in others and stretch their comfort zone.
Are you a school, after school program, club or group that is interested in our Ride Program? To schedule a ride or to learn more, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Want to share your love of mountain biking with youth? Volunteer as an Assistant Ride Leader! You can find available dates for rides by viewing our Agency Calendar. For more information about volunteering for a Ride Program please contact Melanie Stolp at email@example.com.
For the safety of all participants of the Ride Program and to meet our insurance policy guidelines, when temperatures (at a ride location) exceed 91 degrees, the staff of Trips for Kids Denver Metro will evaluate an appropriate course of action that could include canceling the trip or relocating to a different ride site. Our first priority is always the safety of the youth, volunteers and staff members that make our trips possible. Extreme heat increases the risks for heat-related illnesses and injury. We will evaluate each trip on a case by case basis. We will use the NOAA weather site to evaluate temperatures and safety of air quality which can be accessed by clicking here. For questions regarding our policy, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
