Ride Days affected due to heat wave (please read)

Attention all Agencies, Volunteers and Supporters

Due to the heat wave and exceptionally dry conditions that have been present during the month on June 2012 and early part of July, staff of Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder is issuing the following policy statement:

For the safety of all participants of the Ride Program, when temperatures (at a ride location) exceed 92 degrees, the staff of Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder will evaluate an appropriate course of action that could include canceling the trip or relocating to a different ride site.

Our first priority is always the safety of the youth, volunteers and staff members that make our trips possible.   Extreme heat increases the risks for heat related illnesses and injury.  We will evaluate each trip on a case by case basis.

The source we will use to evaluate temperatures and safety of air quality will be the noaa weather site and can be accessed by clicking here.  For questions regarding our policy, please contact Christi Stafford at cstafford@tripsforkidsdenver.org.
