Dear Trips for Kids Volunteer,

One of the most challenging elements of operating TFK is recruiting and retaining regular volunteers for our cycling-based programs for underserved youth.  For the 2011 season, TFK is seeking a committed group of volunteers to step forward, leaders who commit to regular volunteerism with TFK.

This new initiative is called the “Ride Leader” Program.

TFK Denver/Boulder “Ride Leaders” Pledge to:

  • Volunteer for 5 rides during 2011 or serve the equivalent amount of time assisting organization in other areas (25 hours).

TFKD/B will provide volunteers:

  • Special volunteer training opportunities
  • Primal - "Ride Leader" jersey

Use the form below to sign-up to be a "Ride Leader" and receive a TFK jersey!

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Andy Brannon: 303-919-4259 or abrannon@tripsforkidsdenver.org

Ride Leader Program Details:

Program Goal: develop a core group of regular volunteers committed to assisting with five or more rides over the next 12 months.

TFKD/B has always relied on volunteers to power our youth mountain biking and after school bike club programs.  As with most pursuits, as volunteers gain experience they undoubtedly become more valuable in supporting the ride logistics and are better equipped to coach and interact with our youth participants.  In 2011 we are making a commitment to provide a better volunteer experience for both one-time and regular volunteers.  Volunteers who sign up for the “Ride Leader” program may elect to attend pre-ride volunteer training workshops and will receive a TFK “Ride Leader” jersey.

Primal Wear, a local philanthropically minded cycling apparel company, is supporting this program by generously donating 48 custom jerseys.  The jerseys are designed to be symbols of the commitment shared by the volunteers and TFK.

The jerseys also commemorate the lives of two friends, Rob Sears and Grayson Pointer, who made a substantial commitment to TFK, selflessly leading the organization to succeed in the first few years and have since sadly passed away.  Grayson and Rob’s names ring the sleeves along with the TFKD/B core value statements.

This is a first-come, first-serve opportunity limited to the number of jersesys we have on hand.  The jerseys will be available sometime in January of 2011.  Please sign up for the ride leader program using the form below or by contacting Andy Brannon: 303-919-4259 or abrannon@tripsforkidsdenver.org!

Contributors at the $250 level and above qualify to receive a "Ride Leader" jersey. Click here for details>>

Program conditions: By filling out the program sign-up form below, I pledge to volunteer for five Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder program days or complete 25 hours of volunteer service during the next 12 months.  I will complete a volunteer application and pass the required background check.  If I do not complete these requirements, I pledge to contribute $50 to TFKD/B to cover the cost of the jersey.
