"I'm impressed with the progress that is possible in a single ride or over the span of an entire summer. Last week, a girl started out terrified of going downhill and by the end, was able to confidently ride...which is the reason I keep partnering with TFK each year," Anonymous youth agency staffer.

Youth Agency Ride Info

Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder had an unbelievable 2010 season partnering with several dozen youth agencies, like yours, to provide over 1,100 youngsters with a fun, safe, and positive mountain biking experience.   We would enjoy the opportunity to work with your organization in 2011 to share the joy of mountain biking and the great outdoors with your group of underserved youth!

TFKD/B provides everything needed for an awesome, health, and confidence building day of mountain biking:

    •    A fleet of newer bikes from Trek, Specialized, and REI for youth and staff
    •    Helmets and cycling gloves
    •    Full water bottle and snack
    •    Fun-loving, caring volunteers
    •    TFK’s  experienced team of Ride Leaders.

Your job is to simply round up a group of young people up for the challenge and get them to the trailhead with a completed waiver in hand.  In an effort to reach the greatest number of underserved youth with our limited resources and to ensure our volunteers feel fully valued, we are asking groups to please plan on recruiting a minimum of seven youth for each ride!

Our mountain biking program is designed to accommodate groups of novice mountain bikers, age 10 and up, looking for a challenge, new experience but children must know how to ride a bike.  The program is designed to be a one-day experience but we love to work with kids on a series of rides.  It’s a thrill to see the youngster’s skills progress, fitness improve and it’s amazing to develop meaningful relationships with them over a period of time.  Consider signing up for a series of three or more ride dates!

We are now accepting reservations for the 2011 ride season!

  • Day-long mountain biking trips (typicaly from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.)  for up to ten young people: $60
  • After school, compressed programs, can be arranged at a trailhead or at bike path near your location: $40
  • Custom ride programs for groups of more than 10 youngsters and multi-day cycling/camping adventures are also on the menu. Contact us to tell us what you have in mind or for examples of past custom trips.

Please contact Andy Brannon, TFK Program Manager, to review program details, inquire about available ride dates, and to reserve our limited number of ride dates: 303-919-4259 or email abrannon@tripsforkidsdenver.org
