When: June 7-13, 2014
The Denver Post, Ride the Rockies is the flagship, multiday cycling event in Colorado, maybe even in the USA.
Starting in the shadows of Boulder’s Flatirons, cyclists will visit the iconic ski towns of Winter Park, Steamboat Springs, Avon and Breckenridge before finishing under the historic arch in downtown Golden. Over the span of six days, 473 miles and 28,265 vertical feet, participants will test their endurance by summiting six passes – Berthoud, Muddy, Rabbit Ears, Tennessee, Fremont and Loveland – along with cyclist favorites Battle Mountain, Swan Mountain and Lookout Mountain.
Typically, Ride the Rockies is a lottery. More than 4,000 applicants vie for 2,000 spots to participate in this unique once in a lifetime event.
Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder is honored to say, this year, RTR has invited us to be a top level event non-profit partner. This means that if you join the Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder by March 1, 2014 you can bypass the lottery – you are guaranteed a spot!
